Does using an international calling card on a Verizon Wireless phone save you money when calling from abroad?
Is it worth buying one? I plan on calling the United States from the Grand Cayman Islands and Jamaica, was just wondering if a calling card would save me money.
No, calling cards only save you money when you call from home. You will be paying roaming to use your phone in another country, same price, calling card or not. Call VZW and ask them what your options are.
Traveling internationally: cell phone or calling card?
I will be traveling for the U.S. to Australia for about two weeks. I would like to have a cell phone or calling card to be able to call my family in the U.S. Since I do not travel often, I only want something temporary. Do people have recommendations? Should I get a disposable cell phone? An international calling card? One advantage of a cell phone is that it has internet but I’m not sure if disposable phones have them.
Maybe the above are not the only options and somebody else has even better suggestions.
Thanks for your advice.
If you don’t have a global Unlocked cell phone then rent a Australia Cell Phone from Rebelfone at $1/Day with free activated SIM Card, & enjoy free incoming in Australia, lowest call charges to US, low data & text charges. OR Order a Free SIM with your Unlocked cell. I think this is the best & cost effective temporary solution.
