Mobile Phone Service in Paris?
I frequently travel to Paris and spend 2 to 4 weeks in a year. I use the horrific Estonia mobile number purchased in UK. Since I don’t know French apart from ‘bonjour’ ‘merci’ ‘bu pale angle’ – I could not explore the equivalent of Pay as you go scheme there as offered by Carphone warehouse here. Can anybody help me to give some details of the scheme that I can purchase there? I basically require a sim card meant for foreigners – with free incoming calls and cheap national and international calls -preferably unlimited validity (whenever I come to Paris I can use it to receive calls for free and make cheap calls -local and international.
I think you can buy sim4travel which will give you an UK number and you can use it in Europe and UK. You can get it in a local shop or buy in the internet within 16 GBP. moreover if you buy in the internet tell them that you want to switch from Estonia number travel sim they will give you a free SIM. Also you may go for Vodaphone Pay as You go scheme – free roaming in this summer. Other suggestions given here through the links such as Mobiho will incur very high initial cost – 40 GBP. For just two weeks or 4 weeks it may not be helpful. The other link is post-paid mobile. I personally don’t like this post-paid thing as I am afraid of execessive billing or just may exceed my budget.
